CAS Mission

CAS is air action near friendly forces that needs to be carefully integrated.

— it indicates that the target is destroyed and that a JTAC is ensuring that no friendlies are harmed, indicating that the attack is CAS.

Technological advancements in aircraft capabilities, weapons systems, and munitions give s more tools to maximize the effects of fires while reducing the risk of friendly fire when using air power in close proximity to friendly forces.

🎯 Types of Control:

The type of control shall be specified in the prior to the attack brief for aircrew SA, but there are no requirements for the aircrew.

Types
-- Description --

Type 1 —

JTAC can see the target and Aircraft, and is for individual attacks.

— Type 2 —

JTAC "must" have real-time information on the target from /Scout or UAV, etc, for individual attacks. He can visually see either the target or the aircraft (but not both).

— Type 3 —

JTAC "must" be able to provide clearance for multiple attacks during a single engagement, subject to specific attack restrictions. Just like last of the controls, the JTAC "must" have real-time data on the target from /Scout or UAV, etc.

💥 Method of Attack (MOA):

The optimal method of attack is chosen based on which method allows for the quickest target engagement and is determined by the target type/munition type, how the target will be acquired, and the situation.

Method of Attacks
-- Description --

Aircraft/aircrew will acquire the target or intended aimpoint using the best method available.

e.g. AGM-65 — Summry: Inform the aircraft to kill/destory .

Aircraft/aircrew will employ weapons on the specified coordinates given in the CAS brief.

e.g. GPS Bombs — Summry: Inform the aircraft to strike a .
