# CAS Mission

{% hint style="info" %}
CAS is air action near friendly forces that needs to be carefully integrated.

***— it indicates that the target is destroyed and that a JTAC is ensuring that no friendlies are harmed, indicating that the attack is CAS.***
{% endhint %}

Technological advancements in aircraft capabilities, weapons systems, and munitions give JTAC[^1]s more tools to maximize the effects of fires while reducing the risk of friendly fire when using air power in close proximity to friendly forces.

## :dart: Types of Control:

The type of control shall be specified in the [Game Plan](#user-content-fn-2)[^2] prior to the attack brief for aircrew SA, but there are no requirements for the aircrew.

## :boom: Method of Attack (MOA):

The optimal method of attack is chosen based on which method allows for the quickest target engagement and is determined by the target type/munition type, how the target will be acquired, and the situation.
